Fiona Phillips on homeopathy

Homeopathy has taken a bit of a bashing recently with the Parliamentary Evidence Check recommending that homeopathy no longer be funded by the NHS as there’s no evidence that it actually works.

Of course, many people like and use homeopathy for other non-evidence-based reasons and they think it should be made available on the NHS because they like it – never mind whether it works or not.

Unsurprisingly, a proponent and user of homeopathy is no less an intellect than ex-GMTV presenter Fiona Phillips who wrote a piece for The Mirror:

Parliamentary evidence check: homeopathy

Back in 2006 the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), the government agency for ensuring that medicines and medical devices work, and are acceptably safe, was slated by scientists, skeptics and other rationalists after they changed guidelines regarding the over-the-counter sale of homeopathic products.
